TSC Gives Teachers Until Friday to Apply for 36,000 Promotions Vacancies: How to Apply
The Teachers’ Service Commission (TSC) has extended the application deadline for the 36,000 teachers promotions vacancies to September 15, 2023.
In a TSC circular, teachers will be promoted across nine grades, as the government seeks to allay concerns about their stagnation.
The move came days after successful salary review negotiations for teachers.
The promotions will be distributed throughout primary and secondary schools, as well as teacher-training institutions.
There are 12,716 openings for the position of senior master, while 10,819 teachers will be promoted to senior teachers in conventional primary schools.
There are an additional 700 openings for the position of senior teacher in institutions for students with support needs, and 216 openings for the Grade C4 position of senior lecturer in teacher-training colleges.
The commission also advertised 108 senior principal positions and 34 chief principal positions.
Those who wish to apply must submit their applications through the TSC portal by September 15th.
The notification comes one week after the TSC promoted 14,000 teachers who had been waiting since the previous fiscal year.
The National Treasury has allocated Ksh 1 billion to the commission for the 36,275 promotions.
