TSC To Hire 20,000 More Teachers – President Ruto
President William Ruto has announced that 56,000 teachers have been recruited by the government, with an additional 20,000 set to be employed soon to improve the quality of education in the country.
Reportedly, while laying the foundation stone for modern classrooms at Kamagut Primary School, Ruto disclosed that Ksh.46 billion has been allocated in the new university funding model, and an extra Ksh.5 billion for capitation in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.

The head of state emphasized the government’s commitment to reducing the food importation bill from Ksh.500 billion to zero within ten years.
Ruto highlighted the prolonged funding challenges faced by universities, expressing confidence that the new funding model will facilitate easier access to education for learners.
“Our universities have for long had funding challenges and this new funding will ensure our learners access education without such challenges,” Ruto noted.

Moreover, he underscored his priorities of job creation through housing projects and ensuring the provision of health services to all, pledging to contribute to the country’s transformation.
