Position: Director – Internal Audit
TSC Job Grade: 3 – Post (1)
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC), established under Article 237 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, is seeking applications for the position of Director – Internal Audit. We are looking for qualified, experienced, result-oriented, and highly motivated Kenyan individuals to fill this role.

Requirements for Appointment:
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
- Served in the grade of Senior Deputy Director or Deputy Director – Internal Audit for a minimum period of three (3) years; OR
- Eight (8) years’ experience in a comparable position
- Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related field majoring in Finance or Accounts, Statistics, Economics, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, or any other relevant qualification from a recognized Institution
- Master’s degree from a recognized Institution (an added advantage)
- Certified Public Accountants (CPA K) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA finalist) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA III) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
- Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) is an added advantage
- Membership to ICPAK or IIA in good standing
- Certificate in Leadership Course or equivalent qualification lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution
- Met the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution
- Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and result

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities will entail:
- Ensuring implementation of internal audit policies, strategies, and work plans
- Serving as the Secretary to the Audit Committee
- Presenting audit reports to the Audit Committee
- Developing and reviewing the Internal Audit Charter
- Liaising with external audits
- Providing assurance on the Commission’s Risk management processes
- Reviewing and approving the adequacy of audit findings and recommendations
- Obtaining management comments on the audit findings
- Coordinating special audits
- Ensuring compliance with established policies, plans, procedures, and processes at the Commission
- Leading the preparation and implementation of the internal audit budget
- Supervising and guiding employees in the Directorate for optimum performance

Terms and Remuneration Benefits:
- Basic Salary Scale: Kshs.328,006 – Kshs.416,568
- House Allowance: Kshs.60,000
- Commuter Allowance: Kshs.20,000
- Leave Allowance: As provided in TSC Secretariat
- Annual Leave: 30 working days per calendar year
- Medical Cover: As provided in the TSC Secretariat Medical Scheme
- Terms of Service: Five (5) years contract renewable once subject to satisfactory performance
