Top University Selection Choices by KCSE A-Grade Students
KUCCPS data reveals the insightful distribution of students who achieved an A in the KCSE exam across a range of disciplines and universities.
A majority of A students will enroll at the University of Nairobi. The university will admit 418 out of the 1,152 A students.
The number of students attending Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) will be 264.
Kenyatta University will accept 151 A candidates, followed by Moi University with 71 and Egerton University with 58.
Maseno University will accept 53 students, Technical University Kenya (TUK) will accept 38 students; Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology and Kisii University will each accept 22 students. The university will admit fifteen students.
Dedan Kimathi University of Science and Technology will admit nine top pupils, while the University of Embu will admit six.
Two of the best students will be admitted to the Technical University of Mombasa (TUM). Each of Meru University and Kibabii University will admit one of the best KCSE students.
Students’ top choices among private universities were Uzima University and Mount Kenya University.
According to the data, approximately 21 students with A grades will enroll in private universities next month.
Mount Kenya University will admit six students with an A grade, while Uzima University will admit twelve. Each university receives one student: Daystar University, Kenya Methodist University, and Kenya Highlands Evangelical University.
These students are ineligible for government scholarships and grants due to their enrollment in private institutions. However, they are eligible for government loans.
