According to Civil Registration Services, eCitizen registration or login is required to replace a missing birth certificate.
Step 1: Access Your E-citizen Account To begin, sign up or log in to your E-citizen account.
This online platform provides convenient access to various government services.
Step 2: Navigate to Civil Registration Services Once logged in, locate and select the “Civil Registration Services” tab.
This section will provide you with a range of services related to civil registration.
Step 3: Choose “Application for Child’s Current Birth Certificate.” Within the Civil Registration Services tab, find and click on the option labeled “Application for Child’s Current Birth Certificate.”
This selection will lead you to the necessary application form.
Step 4: Select “Apply for a Replacement of Birth Certificate.” In the application form, you will find a drop-down menu.
From there, choose the option that says “Apply for a Replacement of Birth Certificate.” This ensures that your request is directed appropriately.

Step 5: Complete the Application Form Fill in all the required details on the application form.
Additionally, you will need to upload a valid ID (yours or your parent’s) and provide a copy of the lost certificate or birth notification, if available.

Step 6: Submit Your Application and Make Payment Once you have filled in the necessary information and uploaded the required documents, review the form for accuracy.
When you are satisfied, submit your application. At this stage, you will also be required to pay the specified fee for processing the replacement birth certificate.
Step 7: Await Confirmation and Collect Your Replacement Certificate After submitting your application and making the payment, you will receive a text message to confirm that your request is being processed.

In an effort to expedite procedures, Immigration and Citizen Services Principal Secretary (PS) Julius Bitok announced, that Kenyans will receive birth certificates on the same day they apply.
The PS assured applicants that there would be no further delay.
President Ruto noted that the government has identified close to 7,000 services, and all of them should be available on online platforms by the end of this year so that citizens can interact with government entities from the comfort of their homes or offices and access government services in an efficient, timely, and bureaucracy-free manner.
