19 Top University Courses Selected by KCSE A-Grade Students
Approximately 454 students who earned an A on the KCSE exam last year have been picked for the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery program.
According to KUCCPS data, Pharmacy will admit 111 students, making it the second-most competitive course among top students.
As the third most popular program, Computer Science will admit 90 students.
Architectural studies and Architecture will enroll 61 students, Civil Engineering and Structural Engineering 54, and Electrical and Electronic Engineering 52.
Dental Surgery will admit 39 students, Nursing 34, Clinical Medicine 33, and Aeronautical Engineering 29 to round out the top 10 disciplines chosen by A students.
Bachelor of Law and Mechanical Engineering will each admit 26 of the top students, while Mechanical Engineering will admit 21.
The top students will also enroll in Nursing and Public Health (15), Bachelor of Radiography (13), Software Engineering (10), and Quantity Survey (5), while Biomedical Engineering, Microbiology, and Biotechnology will each attract four students.
Last year, approximately 1,152 students scored an A on the Form Four national examinations.
These students will be the first to benefit from the new university financing model, which President William Ruto unveiled in May and that goes into effect in September.
