KNEC Releases 2023 KPSEA Grade 6 Results

On Friday, January 19, the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) unveiled the 2023 Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) results. Stakeholders, including parents, will retrieve the results from their respective headteachers utilizing the KNEC CBA portal logins.

Following a directive from Education CS Ezekiel Machogu, KNEC officials confirmed that the results were made available online. An official conveyed, “This afternoon, we are issuing a notice urging parents to verify the results through their schools.”

Headteachers and parents, when contacted, corroborated this information. Through a WhatsApp group, a headteacher informed parents, “KPSEA Assessment Reports have been uploaded on the KNEC CBA portal. We can now download them and will provide results for individual learners and the overall school performance.”

In a message witnessed by Kenyans.co.ke, another headteacher mentioned, “The Head Teacher is currently downloading the results slips. We shall communicate to you how you will get the results slips.”

However, the release of results occurred four days after Grade 6 students reported to their respective schools on Monday, January 15. These students were the first to undertake the KPSEA under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

During the Murang’a County Education Day on January 14, CS Ezekiel Machogu, directed teachers to permit students to join Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) before the results were disclosed. Students who couldn’t afford new uniforms were instructed to continue with their Grade 6 ones during the transition.

CS Machogu further emphasized that all 1,282,574 candidates who sat the 2023 KPSEA should be allowed to enroll in Grade 7 in the Junior Secondary Schools affiliated with their primary schools from Grade 1 to 6.

In his directive, he stated, “Grade 7 learners should attend school in uniforms used during Grade 6 in 2023, as parents and guardians work towards acquiring new outfits for the JSS.” Headteachers were also urged to adhere to the prescribed school fees and refrain from imposing additional charges on parents.
