Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Education, Ezekiel Machogu, released the results of the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) examination on Friday. Officials from the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) confirmed that guidelines on result access had been dispatched to headteachers.

Grade 6 students can obtain their results by contacting their respective schools. A check revealed that students can view their registration details via the KNEC portal.

However, headteachers can log in using the school code and learner details to download the results from the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) CBA portal, cba.knec.ac.ke.

To distribute the results, headteachers are mandated to download and print certificates, issuing them to parents and students. Contrary to the customary festivities accompanying national examination releases, a KNEC source mentioned that the KPSEA results would be released quietly, with no elaborate ceremonies.

CS Machogu had announced during the KCSE results release that the KPSEA results would be available on the portal, with headteachers granted access to them.

Accessing KPSEA Exam Results:

Individual Grade 6 candidates can check their results online through a link on the KNEC website or directly at cba.knec.ac.ke.

Headteachers need to input the school’s KNEC code as the username and the assessment number assigned during KPSEA registration as the password.

Unlike previous years, national exam results cannot be accessed via SMS codes.

In the inaugural KPSEA exams held from November 28 to November 30, 2022, 1.2 million candidates were assessed in subjects such as Mathematics, English, Kiswahili, Integrated Science, Social Studies, and Creative Arts.

In 2023, KNEC CEO David Njeng’ere noted that the KPSEA results release was postponed to prioritize marking the KCPE exams.

KNEC is finalizing the KPSEA, and we are committed to ensuring that these reports are ready before these learners transition to junior secondary schools in January 2024,” Njeng’ere explained in November 2023.
