KICD Partners With KRA To Integrate Tax Education Into School Curriculum
The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) is working to partner with the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) to improve tax literacy among students. This collaborative endeavor will entail developing specialized tax e-resources for students following the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
In a meeting with KICD leaders, KRA Commissioner General Humphrey Wattanga emphasized the necessity of incorporating tax education into the curriculum from an early age. The collaboration between KRA and KICD will begin with primary and secondary school pupils, eventually expanding to postsecondary education and addressing potential taxpayers. Dr. Obudho emphasized the effectiveness of the collaboration in reaching a large audience.
The e-content created as a result of this collaboration will be accessible to students at all levels of education as well as the general public, instilling a sense of responsibility for the tax system.
