Senator Khalwale’s Daughter Shines in 2023 KCSE with B+ Grade
Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale’s daughter, Gift Atubukha Khalwale, has secured a B+ grade in the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams, joining the 7,708 girls who achieved the same feat.
This accomplishment ensures her place among the 201,133 candidates who qualify for direct entry to the University.
A standout performer at St. Brigids Kiminini in the KCSE 2023, Atubukha received congratulations from her father on his social media account.

The senator expressed gratitude to his family, the entire St. Brigids High School – Kiminini community, and, above all, God for supporting Atubukha in reaching this significant milestone.
Gift was part of the 903,260 candidates who participated in the 2023 KCSE. Senator Khalwale had previously commended his daughter in 2019 for passing her KCPE with 396 marks out of 500, during a challenging time following the passing of his wife.
Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu unveiled the exam results at Moi Girls High School Eldoret in Uasin Gishu County on January 8, 2024. Among the noteworthy statistics was the improved gender ratio, with 448,899 female students accounting for 49.91% of the total candidates, showcasing a positive shift compared to previous years.

CS Machogu directed the establishment of a board inquiry to investigate why 48,174 candidates received an E grade in the examinations. Parents and candidates were advised to access their results through the KNEC portal, marking a departure from the traditional SMS method.
