Boni Khalwale, a former Kakamega Senator, is a proud father after another of his daughters, Melissa Khamwenyi, excelled in the 2021 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations.
Melissa, who took the national test at Kakamega Hill Junior School, received 402 out of a possible 500 points.
In the five-subject test, she received a mean grade of 80.4 points, with four straight As and one B. Khalwale took to social media to express her delight at her performance.
“Melissa Khamwenyi Khalwale INDEX: 37615027005 English – 86(A), Kiswahili – 83(A), Mathematics – 83(A), Science – 66(B), Social Studies and Religious Education – 84(A). Total 402,” he shared the message of her results.
“My family and I, in 1000 special ways thank God, the teaching and non-teaching staff of Malinya Primary School and Kakamega Hill Junior School for the 402!”
Melissa outperformed her sister, Gift Atabukha, who received 396 points in the 2019 KCPE exam. The Kakamega County senatorial candidate is known for posting pictures of his children’s accomplishments on social media.
Linda Khalwale, who was among the top candidates with 428 marks in the KCPE 2014, is one of his other top performing offspring.
In 2016, the former Senator celebrated his son, Engine Kukaste Khalwale’s, KCPE performance after he received 400 points and was accepted into Alliance High School.
In 2017, Khalwale returned to celebrate his children. He publicly congratulated his daughter Flava and son Steve on receiving 407 and 406 marks in the exam that allowed them to transfer to national schools, respectively.
Khalwale celebrated his son, Kukaste, who received a mean grade of B+ in the 2020 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination in May 2021.

In September 2021, he publicly congratulated his daughter, Inger Imbuhia, who graduated from the University of Nairobi with a Bachelors Degree in Actuarial Science.
“Today is great! Inger Imbuhila Khalwale graduates with BSc Actuarial Science (Upper Second Class) University of Nairobi. Mama Fina Umina Khalwale and I thank God, Kakamega Hill Junior School, Malinya Primary School, Loreto High School Limuru and UoN for our daughter’s 18-year successful journey,” Khalwale noted.
