How Top Schools Performed in 2023 KCSE Results

Several schools nationwide achieved exceptional results in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams, with renowned academic institutions leading the way.

Notable schools with a mean score of 10 and above included Kabarak High School and Kapsabet Boys High School, recording 10.4 and 10.2, respectively.

At Kabarak High School, 62 students secured an A grade, while 155 students achieved A-. Additionally, 102 students scored B+, 60 obtained a B plain, 18 received a B-, and 4 attained a C+.

Mudasa Academy in Vihiga County also posted an impressive mean score of 10.4, and Light Academy in Mombasa County achieved 10.2.

In TransNzoia County, Segero Adventist School emerged as a top-performing school with a mean score of 9.9. Baricho High School in Kirinyaga County recorded a mean score of 9.2, with over 400 students achieving the university entry grade of C+ and above.

Schools with a mean score of 9 included Starehe Boys Center (9.5), Friends School Kamusinga (9.3), Lugulu Girls High School (9.3), Kagumo High School (9.3), Butula Boys High School (9.2), Butere Girls High School (9.1), Bunyore Girls High School in Vihiga County (9.1), Lenana School (9.0), and St Francis Rang’ala (9.0).

Among schools with a mean score of 8 were Kisii School (8.95), Makueni Boys High School (8.91), Precious Blood Riruta (8.8), St Mary’s Girls Igonji (8.8), and Nanyuki Boys (8.8).

Others included St Peter’s Boys Mumias High School (8.5), Agoro Sare Boys High School (8.5), Nyabururu Girls National School (8.4), Baringo High School (8.3), Chavakali High School (8.1), and Kaaga Girls High School (8.1).

Schools with a mean grade of 8.0 included Sironga National School, Ikuu Boys High School, Kyeni Girls High School, and Kenyatta High School Mwatate.

It’s important to note that the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has issued a caution against a viral poster ranking schools, emphasizing that the institution no longer ranks schools.
