The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has released the 2023 October/November KNEC Technical Examinations Timetable dates, guidelines, and instructions to candidates and teachers.

1. Time Management is Paramount

Visually impaired candidates will not receive extra time beyond what their respective papers specify.

2. Commencement of Sessions

All examination sessions will commence promptly at 8 a.m. Candidates should ensure they arrive at their examination seats five minutes before the designated starting time.

3. Examination Integrity and Proper Identification

Candidates must adhere to strict examination regulations to maintain the integrity of the process. It is mandatory to write their names, index numbers, and signatures on their answer scripts before supervisors collect them.

It is also vital to answer only the required number of questions specified in the paper instructions. Any excess responses will not be considered.

6. Penalties for Irregularities

KNEC Act 2012 prescribes the rules and regulations regarding examination irregularities, with penalties as follows:

  • Examination irregularities lead to the cancellation of results for the entire subject, with an overall result of “Y.”
  • Widespread irregularities at an examination center will result in the cancellation of all examination results for that center.
  • Offenses such as revealing examination content, damaging materials, or impersonating candidates carry severe penalties, including imprisonment and hefty fines.
