KUCCPS Update on Students Paying for TVET Courses Application

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) issued a statement on Thursday, providing important guidance to students applying for TVET courses.

The organization emphasized the use of its official account number for application payments and advised against utilizing mobile money codes. While the statement did not explicitly state the reason for this preference, it stressed the significance of adhering to the provided account number.

The statement encouraged applicants to utilize the specified account number for TVET application payments, without delving into the rationale behind this directive.

Notably, KUCCPS had opened applications for TVET courses for individuals who took their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams between 2000 and 2022. The organization set a deadline for submitting applications by January 2024 to facilitate the placement process into different schools.

In addition to those falling within the mentioned timeframe, candidates who underwent the 2023 KCSE exams will also have an opportunity to apply for courses when KUCCPS opens the application portal.

A total of 494,317 students scoring D+ and below in the 2023 KCSE qualified to join TVETs and artisan institutions for pursuit of their preferred certificate or diploma programs.

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu consistently advocates for students to acquire practical skills through short courses offered by TVETs.

He argues that such skills empower students for self-employment opportunities. For those seeking a second chance, applications can be submitted through the student portal at students.kuccps.net.

To apply, visit the portal, input your credentials, and select your preferred course from the options provided by government institutions.

Arrange them in order of preference and submit your choices. Follow the payment instructions provided by KUCCPS to complete the application process.
