Mama Ngina Girls High School Relocates to Shanzu Land Donated by Shimo La Tewa Boys
Mama Ngina Girls High School in Mombasa has successfully relocated to Shanzu, a new site generously provided by Shimo La Tewa Boys High School. This strategic move aims to alleviate congestion issues faced at the previous city center location.
Formerly confined to a mere acre, Mama Ngina students now enjoy a spacious 20-acre campus, courtesy of the land donation. Principal Mwanahamisi Omar expressed her gratitude, emphasizing how the expanded premises will effectively address the challenge of overcrowding.
In her statement, Principal Omar joyfully announced the school’s reopening at the new Shanzu location. The shift from their previous Kizingo site, which was less than an acre, to the expansive 20-acre land signifies a significant positive change facilitated by Shimo La Tewa Boys.
A Form Four student shared the excitement of attending a new school with larger classrooms and enhanced facilities. Mama Ngina, a national school, had struggled with limited space for growth and extracurricular activities.
Anticipating positive changes, a teacher mentioned the administration’s plans for multiple sports fields, including facilities for football and basketball. The school had previously resorted to hiring Mbaraki Sports Club Ground due to inadequate playing fields.
With optimism, the teacher asserted that the availability of these new facilities would significantly enhance the school’s overall performance. Students, in turn, assured education stakeholders that they would leverage the provided resources to excel not only within the county but also beyond its borders.
