Key Highlights:

On the KNEC CBA Portal, the Kenya Early Years Assessment (KEYA) for Grades 3 and the Kenya Foundation Level Education Assessment (KFLEA) for Stage-Based Pathway will be uploaded.

Additionally, School-Based Assessment (SBA) tools for Grades 4 and 5 and Intermediate Level for Stage-Based Pathways will be made available.

Headteachers are required to log in to the CBA portal (https://cba.knec.ac.ke) to access the assessment tools. Password-related issues should be addressed with the respective sub-county director of education.

Administer, score, and upload the assessment outcomes of all learners on the CBA portal within the stipulated time.

SBA tools will be provided in two formats: PDF format and digital format, through the CBA portal.

A detailed user manual on the CBA portal teaches headteachers how to access tools, instructions, scoring guides, and upload learner scores.

The assessment tools for different grades and levels will be accessible on specific dates, starting from June 3, 2024, to September 30, 2024.

Encourage schools to let learners access tools directly using Digital Learning Programme (DLP) tablets or other available digital devices to reduce printing costs.

SBA tools for foundation and intermediate levels will be accessed in PDF format by teachers.

Headteachers must keep all records and evidence generated from the assessments.

Obtain materials for assessments from the immediate school environment or improvise as much as possible.

The circular indicates a detailed schedule for accessing different tools and the deadline for uploading scores.
