Assessment Tools and Portal Access:

The KNEC will upload School-Based Assessment tools for Grade 7, Grade 8 (Age-Based Pathway), and Prevocational Level (Stage-Based Pathway).

Headteachers can access the assessment portal at https://cba.knec.ac.ke.

Password Challenges:

Headteachers experiencing password challenges can contact their respective sub-county director of education for a password reset.

Assessment Administration:

Schools are required to administer, score, and upload assessment outcomes within the stipulated time.

Assessment Formats:

Assessment tools for Grades 7 and 8 will be provided in PDF and digital formats.

PDF Format: Schools log in using credentials to download tools for learners.

Digital Format: On digital devices, individual learners access tools using their assessment numbers.

Cost-Saving Measures:

Encourage schools to provide direct access to assessment tools using Digital Learning Programme (DLP) tablets or other available digital devices to reduce printing costs.

Teachers will access Tools for Prevocational Level in PDF format.

User Manual:

A detailed user manual on accessing tools, instructions, scoring guides, and uploading scores is available on the CBA portal.

Color Images and Records:

Print assessment tools with color images in color or load them on digital devices.

Headteachers must keep all records and evidence generated from the assessments.

Materials and Improvisation:

Obtain materials for assessments from the school environment or improvise as much as possible.

Access Schedule:

Grade 7 and 8 subjects with project, practicals, and performance tasks to be accessed on July 1, 2024.

Subjects Included:

Subjects include agriculture and nutrition, creative arts and sports, CRE, integrated science, social studies, IRE, mathematics, English, Kiswahili, Kenyan sign language, and pre-technical studies, among others.

SNE Prevocational Level:

Performance tasks for Special Needs Education (SNE) Prevocational Level subjects are outlined.
