Kindiki Declares Monday 13th a Public Holiday

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has made a significant announcement by declaring Monday, 13th November 2023, as a public holiday.

The gazette notice reads, “In Exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Public Holidays Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration declares Monday, November 13 2023, a public holiday in which the public shall be engaged in tree growing countrywide.”

As part of Kenya’s Landscape and Ecosystem Restoration Program—Towards the Growth of 15 Billion Trees, the tree-planting activity is scheduled, according to CS Kindiki.

To launch this tree-planting endeavor on a national scale, there will be a designated national venue where the event will be presided over by President William Ruto. Simultaneously, Cabinet Secretaries and Governors will lead tree-planting activities in all of Kenya’s 47 counties. This comprehensive approach ensures that the tree-planting effort is well-coordinated and extends to every corner of the country.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has also made a passionate appeal to all Kenyan citizens and the general public to actively participate in this national initiative.
