According to Bomet County Police Commandant Robinson Ndiwa, the officer did his duties well during the morning session before complaining of chest problems during the afternoon hours, causing his supervisor to seek advice from relevant authorities.

“It’s unfortunate that we have lost him. He was a good officer serving at Sotik prison. Before the start of the KCSE exams, he was full of life interacting with his colleagues without showing any signs of weakness,” added Ndiwa.

Meanwhile, in Chepalungu Sub-county, a student from Kipsuter Secondary School is taking exams at Sigor Sub-county Hospital after giving birth to a baby boy in the morning.

At the same time, two more students from Koitab Silibwet Secondary and Siongiroi Girls Schools are receiving treatment for illnesses.

Due to impassable roads, the plane serves portions of Ijara subcounty and the entire Hulugho subcounty.

Despite the deluge, Ijara subcounty Director of Education Ibrahim Odowa reported that the tests are proceeding successfully in the area.

Flash floods have even washed away bridges connecting communities, and some highways have been washed away, rendering them impassable.

Mr. Odowa stated that despite the region’s proximity to Somalia, the government has been able to provide invigilators with enough security in the event of insecurity, as seen in the past when the Al Shabaab attacked test centers.
