KCSE Exams To Continue On Monday Public Holiday — Machogu
Despite the declaration of Monday as a public holiday, Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu confirms that the ongoing KCSE exams will proceed as scheduled.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Education CS directs all members of the Multi-Agency Examinations Administration Group to report to duty on time to ensure the day’s activities proceed as planned.
“The Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Interior and National Administration, has declared Monday, November 13, 2023, a public holiday to allow members of the public to be engaged in tree planting countrywide.”

“The Ministry of Education wishes to inform the public that the holiday will not interrupt the ongoing Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Examination papers scheduled for Monday, November 13, 2023,” the announcement goes on to say.
President William Ruto will lead the country in the tree-growing effort, according to Interior CS Prof. Kithure Kindiki in a gazette notification dated November 6, in keeping with his administration’s ambitious ambition to cultivate 10 billion trees by 2032.

Cabinet Secretaries and Governors will preside over the exercise, marking it across the 47 counties, and it expects participation from all Kenyan citizens and members of the general public.
The decision to proclaim November 13 a public holiday follows the Cabinet’s decision on Friday, November 3, 2023, in Mombasa to save the country from the disastrous effects of climate change.
