Education to Reap Big in the 2024/25 Ksh.4.14 Trillion Budget

In anticipation of the upcoming financial budget, Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro has emphasized that the majority of budgetary allocation will be directed towards the education sector, aiming to enhance the overall standards of education within the country.

While addressing the community in Kapseret constituency, Nyoro disclosed that, out of the Ksh.4.14 trillion budget, a significant portion is earmarked for the education and agriculture sectors.

Reportedly, Nyoro, who holds the position of chairperson in the National Assembly’s Budgets and Appropriations committee, highlighted that the largest share of the budget will be allocated to education.

He expressed the intention to ensure universal access to education for all children in Kenya. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of agriculture, stating, “The other high budget is agriculture, we want agriculture to be a business. We will give farmers products, and we want them to profit from farm produce.”

Furthermore, Nyoro outlined plans within the ministry of agriculture to allocate funds for the provision of subsidized fertilizers to farmers, aiming to facilitate increased profitability in the agricultural sector.

In a bid to address the needs of vulnerable populations, Nyoro announced that funds will be prioritized for the elderly and individuals living with disabilities in the budget for the 2024/25 financial year. This strategic allocation aligns with the broader goal of ensuring inclusive and equitable distribution of resources across various sectors.
