TSC Effects 14,733 Mass Teacher Transfers
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has said it will effect transfers of 14733 teachers in the first term of 2023.
Speaking during the release of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) on Friday, TSC chief executive officer Dr. Nancy Macharia assured teachers that the transfers will not affect service delivery.
“During the COVID-19 period, the TSC made a deliberate decision to not cause disruptions in schools by imposing a moratorium on making transfers affecting many transfers of teachers. Since we have now lifted the ban, we have carried out a careful exercise of effecting 14,733 transfers which will become effective this term.” Said Nancy Macharia.
On examination marking, she congratulated the KCSE examiners for their diligence and hard work, which allowed the ministry to deliver the results on time
Dr. Macharia urged teachers to always be ready to serve their country and to put professionalism first when they are called for the marking exercise.
She said as teachers, it is a symbol of honor and esteem to be identified and recommended for the examination.
Prior to the marking process, the Commission had selected and validated more than 40,000 teachers.
Therefore, we should avoid any attempts to prioritize our own interests over those of the hundreds of candidates whose futures will be determined by the marking exercise.
“We should therefore shun any attempts to put our interests before the thousands of candidates whose future we determine throu"gh the marking exercise.
