President William Ruto has revealed plans to finalize a significant agreement between Kenya and Germany, aiming to generate 250,000 job opportunities by June 2024. The announcement was made during a cabinet retreat in Naivasha, Nakuru County.

President Ruto conveyed that Germany has committed to welcoming 250,000 Kenyans with professional, skilled, and semi-skilled backgrounds to address the European nation’s substantial labor demands.

During the cabinet retreat on Monday, President Ruto outlined the collaborative efforts with Roseline Njogu, the Principal Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, to conclude the deal within the next four months. “Roseline just returned from Germany.

We are finalizing the agreement with the German government as they have requested 250,000 job opportunities, and they want the agreement completed before June. Similar negotiations are underway with various countries,” stated Ruto.

President Ruto emphasized ongoing discussions with several nations to create employment opportunities for Kenyan youth, urging legislators from Kenya Kwanza to actively support his initiatives.

“There are jobs available, and there are young people seeking opportunities. Our task is to connect them with these opportunities. Any dedicated leader will heed my words and take action,” asserted Ruto.

Additionally, President Ruto expressed concern about the limited number of Kenyan nurses sent to Saudi Arabia. Out of the required 2,500 nurses, only 500 have been able to travel.

Ruto called on leaders to align with his government’s objectives and assist the Health Ministry in facilitating the deployment of the remaining nurses and others interested in future agreements.
