The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has unveiled a comprehensive list of 217 diploma courses catering to students who completed their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams between 2000 and 2023.

These diploma programs span across various fields and are available at accredited universities, colleges, and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.

Among the plethora of options, Kenyans.co.ke has curated a selection of five affordable diploma courses facilitated by KUCCPS-accredited institutions, providing a valuable resource for students aspiring to pursue further education.

1. Diploma in Education

Tailored to suit the individual’s subject preferences, the Diploma in Education offers diverse pathways for specialization. For instance, those interested in Secondary Teacher Education with a focus on Biology and Chemistry must have achieved a minimum grade of C+ in KCSE.

The program, available at Kagumo Teachers Training College, requires an investment of Ksh67,184 for Year 1.

Similarly, a Diploma in Secondary Teachers Education focusing on English and History mandates a minimum grade of C+ in KCSE, along with specific grades in English and Mathematics. This program is accessible at both Kagumo Teachers Training College and Lugari Diploma Teachers Training College, with costs ranging from Ksh67,184 to Ksh67,589 for the first year.

Additionally, institutions such as Eldoret Polytechnic, Kitutu Chache TVET, Masinga TVET, Omuga TVET, PC Kinyanuui Technical Training Institute, and Wote Training Institute offer a Diploma in Childhood Education, with entry requirements set at a minimum grade of C in KCSE. The Year 1 fee for this course is Ksh67,189.

2. Diploma in Community Health

With a minimum KCSE grade of C-, the Diploma in Community Health encompasses various specialized programs including Community Health Level 6, Nutrition and Diet Management, Dietetics Management, and Community Health and Nutrition.

Institutions such as Bondo Technical Training Institute (TTI), Bureti TTI, Daniel Wako Murende TVET, Kenya Coast Polytechnic, Kisii National Polytechnic, and Kitale National Polytechnic offer this diploma, with Year 1 costs amounting to Ksh67,189.

Moreover, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology provides this diploma at a fee of Ksh183,600 for the first year.

3. Diploma in Sales and Marketing

Prospective students aiming for a career in Sales and Marketing must have achieved at least a grade of C- in KCSE.

The program, which costs Ksh67,189 per year, is available at institutions like Aldai TTI, Belgut TVET, Borabu TVET, Bureti TTI, Bushiangila TTI, Coast Institute of Technology, Daniel Wako Murende TVET, Eldoret Polytechnic, and the Co-operative University of Kenya.

4. Diploma in Motor Vehicle Mechanics

Designed to equip individuals with practical skills, the Diploma in Motor Vehicle Mechanics offers two specialized programs: Automotive Engineering Level 6 and Automotive Technician Level 6.

Year 1 fees for these programs are set at Ksh67,189. Institutions such as Baringo Technical College, Bungoma North TVET, Bunyala TVET, Bureti TTI, Coast Institute of Technology, David M Wambuli TVET, and Daniel Wako Murende TVET are among those offering this diploma.

5. Diploma in Journalism

Aspiring journalists need a minimum grade of C in KCSE to embark on this exciting career path. They can choose between Digital Journalism and a plain Diploma in Journalism.

Eldoret Polytechnic offers Digital Journalism at a cost of Ksh67,189 for the first year, while Kabete National Polytechnic and Kenya Institute of Mass Communication provide a Diploma in Journalism at fees of Ksh67,189 and Ksh96,000, respectively.
