Kakamega Teacher Found Dead With Motorbike Lying On Him
In Likuyani constituency, Kakamega county, the police are currently conducting an investigation into the death of a teacher allegedly associated with Matunda Primary School in the region. The lifeless body of Mr. Mugera Lugado was reportedly found on Monday in a quarry located in Lupele village, Soy area.
Residents who arrived at the scene observed that a motorbike, believed to belong to the deceased, was partially resting on his body.

Sub-chief Oliver Lukuyani has confirmed the incident, mentioning that a resident discovered the deceased’s body while passing by the road. Lukuyani received a phone call around 7 am, alerting him to the discovery of a man’s body in the quarry.
A peculiar detail emerged as a cigarette was discovered in one of the socks worn by the deceased, prompting inquiries. Chief Lukuyani noted, “The deceased had no known history of smoking cigarettes or taking alcohol.”
The body has been transported to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret, where it awaits a postmortem examination.
The police are actively investigating the incident to uncover the circumstances surrounding the teacher’s untimely demise.

Elsewhere, tragedy struck in Eldoret town as two young pupils lost their lives after being swept away by floodwater. The unfortunate incident occurred while the pupils were walking home, slipping and falling into a rainwater drainage system due to the heavy rains that had pounded the town.
The bodies of the two pupils were recovered by the police from a water drainage facility located near Rupa Mall, situated along the Eldoret-Nairobi road. Uasin Gishu police commander Benjamin Mwanthi provided confirmation of the incident and revealed that the young victims attended Central Primary School in the town.
Mwanthi stated, “We have managed to retrieve the bodies, which have been taken to the morgue.” The two pupils, both in Grade 4, met a tragic end as they were making their way home from school. This devastating event serves as a somber reminder of the dangers posed by adverse weather conditions, particularly in flood-prone areas.
