Goldalyn Kakuya Tops Again After Five Years.

Goldalyn Kakuya, the 2017 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) top student, has graduated from Brookhouse School after completing Form Six at the prestigious institution.

After five years, Goldalyn Kakuya has finally graduated from Form Six at Brookhouse Karen. She was the first person in the country born with albinism to TOP the KCPE in 2017.

Kakuya was one of the top students in her class, earning an A* (star).

In a statement issued on Friday, June 10, nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura stated that the top student expressed a desire to study medicine outside of the country after graduation.

“She got an A* (star) and intends to study medicine at a top university abroad,” he stated.

First Lady Margaret Kenyatta awarded Kakuya a scholarship to attend the international school in 2019, stating that the sponsorship would cover all academic costs at the institution.

This followed a meeting between the top KCPE student and President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House.

The First Lady commissioned a scholarship program and officially opened a library at Brookhouse School, Runda Campus.

Top KCPE candidates Goldalyn Tanga and Olive Wachira were awarded the Margaret Kenyatta Scholarship for their secondary education in the school in 2017 and 2018’

Kakuya had just finished Form One at Kenya High School when she joined Brookhouse.

She made headlines in 2020 after her results were shared on social media. In her IGCSE exams, she received eight A*s and two As.

Eric Mulindi, the head teacher, stated that Kakuya was one of their top performers, attributing her exceptional performance to the institution’s hard work and discipline.

“We are proud of our students as they set off on the next step of their journeys.” These results would not have been possible without the dedication of our teaching staff, who consistently go above and beyond for our students, “stated Mulindi.

Kakuya received 453 points in the 2017 national exams.
