Form 3 Student in Critical Condition After Being Attacked by ‘Boyfriend’
The Aduwa village located in East Yimbo, Siaya county was left stunned after a Form 3 student was brutally attacked and severely injured by her alleged boyfriend early on Monday.
The victim, who is 17 years old and attends Got Matar Secondary School in Bondo Sub County, is presently in critical condition at Eldoret Teaching and Referral Hospital.
The suspect, who is a Form 4 student at the same school, has not been apprehended, and his age is still unknown.
The victim’s injuries were so severe that the Star newspaper saw a gruesome image of her with deep cuts on her head, cheeks, throat, and limbs, indicating that her life was in danger.
East Yimbo Location Chief, Julius Odemba, confirmed the bizarre incident and noted that he was working with the police around the clock to apprehend the suspect.
The victim’s mother could not confirm whether there was a sexual relationship between her daughter and the attacker. However, she revealed that the boy came to their house where her daughter was sleeping at around 3 am.
He knocked on the window, and the victim opened it before leaving with him. The distraught mother said that she was informed that her daughter was lying in a pool of blood in the neighborhood by a neighbor at around 6 am.
The victim’s father, who works as a night guard, is still trying to come to terms with the incident.
He said that his daughter is the only reason he works at night to earn her school fees. He pleaded with the police to investigate the matter and find out what crime his daughter committed.
The victim’s family revealed that they knew the suspect well and suspected that he was with other people who are yet to be identified.
Chief Odemba called on members of the public to report incidents as soon as they occur, as his office only learned about the horrific incident via social media long after the suspect had disappeared.
