Death of KU Student Days After Date With Mystery Lover
A female student from Kenyatta University, June Jerop, who was pursuing a master’s degree, was discovered dead on March 20, hours after leaving for a date with an unknown lover.
According to the girl’s family and friends, her phone rang at around 5 p.m. when she left the institution to meet her date.
Jerop’s sister lamented that according to her friends, Jerop had informed them that she was going to meet a male friend, but had not disclosed many details about it.
She was reportedly discovered along a road in Nairobi before police transferred her body to the City Mortuary.
According to the police, her swollen and blood-stained body was discovered, raising questions as to whether she was a victim of the nationwide demonstrations or murder.
Her family filed a missing person report at the local police station after numerous attempts to contact her at work and school.
In addition, her coworkers stated that the deceased’s absence from work was not typical. They joined the search in the hopes of discovering her alive.
On March 24, the deceased’s family and friends arrived at the morgue and positively identified her body through her clothing and hairstyle.
“We suspect she was killed on Sunday, and her body dumped on the roadside on Monday morning,” the deceased’s sister told Nation Africa.
According to her sister, Jerop was a compassionate individual who did not deserve the suspects’ cruelty.
She went on to say that the family was in the process of raising funds for their ailing mother and that the incident has left the family devastated.
As they awaited the results of an autopsy, the family demanded justice from the authorities. Police began their investigation by attempting to reconstruct her last conversations, hangout spots, and any persons of interest.
