Found Dead in Room in Parklands Area
The police are currently investigating an unfortunate incident that occurred at the University of Nairobi, where a law student was found dead in her room.
Teresia Wawira Ndwiga, a fourth-year student, was found dead on Sunday, February 12, with a white bloody substance coming out of her nose. At the time of the discovery of her body, she was alone in the room.
According to the police, they were informed about the deceased’s room being locked from the inside and her being missing. The roommate of Teresia informed the police that she was away for the weekend and upon her return, she found the room locked from the inside.
She knocked several times, but there was no response, and hence she contacted the guards. Upon inspection, they found the naked body of Teresia lying on the floor.
The police arrived at the scene and broke into the room and found the body to be naked and a white bloody substance oozing from her nose.
Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei informed the media that there were no visible marks on the body of Teresia and that the cause of her death is unknown.
However, investigations are ongoing, and a post-mortem will be conducted as part of the probe into the incident. The body has since been moved to the mortuary.
In another unfortunate incident that took place in Zimmerman, Nairobi, a man died after being buried alive while digging a trench. John Binyige Simangwi, 40 years old, was part of a group of workers who were digging a trench at a construction site.
On Sunday, the wall collapsed on them when they were almost seven feet deep and were preparing to leave. The collapse trapped John inside, and by the time the workers dug to save him, he had already succumbed.
The workers retrieved the body and took it to the mortuary. Bungei informed the media that the incident is being investigated and asked contractors to ensure the safety of their workers while on duty.
In conclusion, these two unfortunate incidents have resulted in the loss of two lives, and the police are currently investigating both incidents to determine the cause of death. The authorities are also reminding contractors to ensure the safety of their workers while on duty to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
