Triplets and Thousands in Limbo Over Form One Placements Due to Fees
Thousands of students, including a set of triplets, face the risk of losing their Form One placements due to the inability to pay school fees. Citizen TV visited the home of Juliet, Harriet, and Purity, identical triplets from Imara Daima, Nairobi County.
Despite scoring well in their KCPE exams, they have been unable to start secondary school as they lack the funds required for admission.

During a typical school day, instead of attending classes, the triplets assist with household chores. They expressed their disappointment and concerns about falling behind their peers. Their parents, despite their efforts, are struggling to afford the fees needed for their education.
The family’s financial situation became even more dire after the sudden death of their grandfather, who had promised to secure a loan for them.
Each girl needs Ksh. 77,000 for fees and other expenses, an amount the family cannot manage. In a similar situation, Sharon Moranga from Kisii, who scored 378 marks in KCPE, is also unable to join high school due to extreme poverty in her family. Despite her father’s meager income, they cannot afford the fees.
