Trans-Nzoia to absorb all 800 ECDE Caregivers into Permanent and Pensionable Terms of Service.
Monday, Governor George Natembeya of Trans Nzoia pledged to prioritize Early Child Development Education.
He stated that this will be accomplished by absorbing all 800 ECDE Caregivers to permanent and pensionable terms.
The governor said as he presided over Jamhuri Day festivities at Amani Primary School in the Chepchoina ward of Endebes sub-county.
“There is a need for improvement of infrastructural development in our schools besides my government striving to go to an extra mile in increasing capitation and manpower to improve the quality of learning for our children,” Natembeya said.
In addition, he vowed to collaborate with all elected officials to realize quick development in the county.
For the sake of building Trans Nzoia, the governor urged for cooperation among all political authorities, stating that those who supported legal lawsuits to derail his plan must reconsider their actions.
The Governor stated that his administration has resurrected the Nawiri fund as part of his development plan.
He encouraged the Agriculture Development Corporation’s administration to reconsider its goals, stating that locals have reaped no social corporate responsibility terms.
He stated that it was inappropriate for the company to enable its NPR-hired security to harass villagers searching for leftover corn.
Robert Pukose, a representative from Endebes, led other elected officials in voicing their support for the governor.
Vice-Governor Philomena Kapkory urged parents not to abdicate their parental responsibilities and warned against FGM.
Mathias Rioba, a local county commissioner, warned that individuals who preyed on and impregnated schoolgirls would be prosecuted.
“I have instructed chiefs and their assistants to take stock of all school girls that sat for their examinations while pregnant in order to have them prosecuted,” he said.
Members of the County Security Committee, the County Executive Committee, and many ward representatives also attended the event.
