Tifa Ranks Ezekiel Machogu, Kindiki as Top-Performing Cabinet Secretaries
According to survey firm Tifa, Interior CS Kithure Kindiki and Education CS Ezekiel Machogu are the top-performing Cabinet secretaries in Kenya.
Tifa released the survey results on Wednesday, which showed that Kindiki had an overall score of 26%, while Machogu came in second with 10%.
Kindiki’s performance was attributed to improved security, reduced crime rates, and better service delivery.
Machogu’s ranking, on the other hand, was due to the successful implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), achieving a 100% transition rate, and overall improvements in the education sector.
The survey was conducted through a national household survey between March 11 and March 19, 2023, involving 2,065 respondents. The margin of error was +-2.1, and the survey was conducted in English and Kiswahili, with no phone call interviews.
Other Cabinet secretaries who made it to the top five include Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Mithika Linturi (Agriculture), and Ababu Namwamba (Youth Affairs, Sports, and the Arts), who tied at 4%, 3%, and 3%, respectively.
This survey follows a similar one conducted by Infotrak, which also named Kindiki and Machogu as the best-performing Cabinet secretaries.
The ranking of Cabinet secretaries is important for evaluating the performance of government officials and can inform decisions on reappointment or reshuffling of Cabinet positions.
The survey results provide valuable feedback for the government to identify areas that need improvement and recognize the successes of its officials.
