Student Who’s Testicle Were Removed After Teachers’ Beating Speaks
A high school student in Kisii who lost a testicle as a result of an injury he sustained on Saturday evening during an alleged corporal punishment has described the incident.
During a Business paper exam, the KCSE candidate from Bomachoge Borabu is alleged to have been discovered with scribbled notes.
While lying in his hospital bed, he claimed that the invigilator had taken him to the office, where he, three other teachers, and a guard had allegedly beaten him severely.
He confirmed that the invigilator had caught them with a small piece of paper on which they had scribbled notes, but they insisted they had not used it.
However, the teacher did not entertain their explanations and forcefully escorted them out of the classroom and into the office.
“At the office, he was joined by other teachers in beating me up… I kept imploring them to forgive me but in vain,” he said.
The 17-year-old reported that he began to bleed after receiving the caning and was rushed to the hospital.
“They rushed me to Ogembo Hospital, and I was later referred to Hema,” he said.
The testicle was severely ruptured, according to the surgeons who operated, and it had to be removed.
Investigators into the incident have begun, according to Kisii County Police Commander Charles Kasses.
“We have already deployed a team of our officers to start investigations. We will get to the bottom of the matter, and arrests will be made,” he stated.
