St. Anthony Kitale School Advances to Hockey Semifinals

St. Anthony Kitale, the defending champions from Rift Valley, has secured a spot in the semi-finals of hockey at the National Secondary Schools Term One Games in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County. The team topped Pool A after winning all their matches, including a 5-0 win over Maseno in the final match

St. Anthony Kitale Head Coach Kevin Lugalia expressed confidence in his team’s performance, saying, “It was a tough pool, and we expect the same in the semi-finals tomorrow. We are confident of clinching the title, but we are taking one game at a time.”

St. Anthony will face Mang’u High School, while Musingu will take on Meru School in the boy’s category.

Dagoretti and Dr Aggrey Secure Spots in Basketball Semifinals at National Secondary Schools Term One Games

In the boys’ category, Dagoretti topped Pool A in basketball, while Laiser Hill led the log in Pool B. In the girls’ category, Butere is leading in Pool A, while Loreto Girls tops in Pool B.

And In basketball, Dagoretti will face Dr Aggrey, while Laiser will take on Lukenya in the boy’s category. In the girls’ matches, Butere will tackle Our Lady of Mercy, while Loreto Girls will face Kaya Tiwi in the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, in the girls’ category of hockey, Nyamira Girls topped Pool A, while in Pool B, St. Josephs drew 0-0 with St. Charles Lwanga.

Nyamira Girls Head Coach Dennis Kigai also expressed confidence in his team’s performance, saying, “We are confident of winning the title this year. Last year we lost at the finals to Tachassis, but this time, being the only team from last year’s nationals who are back this year, we will emerge victorious.”

Brookside Dairy Resumes Sponsorship

The finals for all categories will take place on Saturday. The competition was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic for two years, but Brookside Dairy has resumed its sponsorship of the competition, investing over Shs.14.5 Million, along with providing kitting and refreshments to the players and match officials.
