Short Courses:
Candidates anticipating university or TVET admission can enroll in short courses from various institutions to enhance their skills.
Skills acquired can be beneficial in the future and enhance employability.
Courses typically span up to three months, allowing students to learn and practice acquired skills.
Options include driving, computer studies, baking, foreign languages, music classes, and Certified Public Accounts (CPA) for those interested in accounting.
Bridging Courses:
Bridging courses enable students to retake subjects in which they performed poorly during the KCSE.
Students can achieve the minimum grade required for university admission by improving their subject performance.
Various institutions offer bridging courses, with fees varying based on the chosen subjects.
Institutions providing bridging courses are recognized and registered by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).
Note: Certificates from bridging courses may not be recognized by international institutions.

Start a Business:
Considering the rising unemployment rate, students can initiate a small business during the months before university enrollment.
Aligning the business with acquired short-course skills can provide both income and practical job market experience.
Computer short courses can be beneficial for adapting to evolving technology and exploring career paths through online platforms like YouTube.
Apprenticeship:
Engaging in apprenticeship allows students to learn directly from experts in their chosen field, providing hands-on experience.
Students aspiring to specific careers can benefit from learning and gaining skills through apprenticeship with friends or family members already in those fields.
As the intake for higher education is set for August, these options empower students to make productive use of their time and enhance their readiness for the academic challenges ahead.
