Loitokitok to Get New Technical College
A Member of Parliament for Kajiado South Constituency has assured his constituents that the National Government will establish a technical college in Kajiado South Constituency.
Sakimba Parashina stated over the weekend, while on a meet the people tour in Kajiado South, that the establishment of the college will equip local residents with the technical skills necessary for self-employment.
The college will offer courses in masonry, plumbing, electrical work, and tailoring, among others, according to Parashina.
The legislator went on to say that with the new technical college, the exodus of students from Loitokitok Sub County to other counties for these courses would be stifled, as the courses would be offered within the district.
The politician stated that the government will begin construction of the institution within the next two months.
During the Meet the People tour, Parashina, accompanied by Jackson Angaine, a member of the County Assembly from the Rombo Ward, inaugurated a road connecting Entarara and Tanzania.
The Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KERRA) has set aside Sh7 million for the road’s maintenance, which will be performed annually to ensure the road’s condition.
The lawmaker stated that the road will expedite economic development in the region by facilitating movement within and beyond the district.
Angaine thanked KERRA for the road, stating that the infrastructure would be a boon to the residents of Rombo and Loitoktok Sub County in general.
He added that the Kajiado county government had set aside Sh8 million for the maintenance of the same road, but since KERRA had assumed the responsibility, the Sh8 million would be allocated to other roads in need.
