KUCCPS 2023: IT Courses for Grade E Students, Colleges and Charges

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) recently announced that students who completed the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams now have the opportunity to choose and modify their courses through an online platform.

With the aim of joining their preferred higher learning institutions in September, students are granted a three-week window to select courses based on cut-off points and program costs.

Despite some students achieving a mean grade of E in the 2022 KCSE, they are not restricted in their course options.

The government has expressed its commitment to supporting technology and advocating for IT-related courses to keep up with the evolving times.

The KUCCPS portal offers a wide range of IT-related courses across various institutions throughout the country, including Maasai Mara Technical Vocational College, Mathira Technical and Vocational College, Mwala Technical & Vocational College, and Cherangany Technical and Vocational College, among others. The cost of an IT course is approximately Ksh67,189 per year.

Course Details:

Several IT courses are available to the students, such as the Artisan in Information in Communication Technology, National Vocational Certificate of Education and Training (NVCET) in ICT, NVCET Certificate in Information in Information Communication Technology, NVCET in ICT (KNEC) for a maximum of four trainees, and NVCET level I and II in ICT.

Selecting and Revising Courses:

To choose and modify their courses, students must access the KUCCPS portal at students.kuccps.net.

They will be required to provide their personal details, including their KCSE index numbers, KCSE year, and a chosen password.

Once logged in, students can navigate to the ‘Programmes’ or ‘Institutions’ tabs to make their course selections.

The ‘Programmes’ tab provides information on the cost and cut-off points for each course.

Students can select up to four courses using the respective course codes and proceed by clicking the ‘Application/Revision’ tab.

After completing the selection process, students need to click ‘Apply Now’ and await confirmation from the institution.

By accessing the KUCCPS portal, students can conveniently select their preferred courses based on cut-off points and program costs.
