DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSING
– Diploma in Community Health Nursing (Distance Learning)
For those who have already obtained a Certificate in Community Health Nursing (KECN) and registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya, there is an opportunity to upgrade their qualifications to a diploma level.
This program requires a minimum of 2 years of post-graduation experience.
The duration of the course is 2 years. The course is offered at the Garissa and Kisii campuses.
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH
– Diploma in Public Health (Upgrading)
If you currently hold a Certificate in Environmental Health Sciences and have two years of working experience in the field, you can enhance your skills and knowledge by upgrading to a diploma qualification.
The program spans over 2 years. You can choose to pursue this course at the Karuri, Lake Victoria, or Kuria campus.
DEPARTMENT OF MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENCES
– Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences (Upgrading)
If you have a Certificate in Medical Laboratory Sciences and are registered with the KMLTTB (Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board), you can take your career to the next level by enrolling in the Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences program.
This course, offered on a full-time basis, has a duration of 2 years. You can join the program at the Lake Victoria campus.
DEPARTMENT OF MEDICAL ENGINEERING
– Diploma in Medical Engineering (Upgrading)
For individuals who already possess a Certificate in Medical Engineering, there is an opportunity to upgrade your qualifications to a diploma level.
The program duration is 2 years. You can choose to study at the Kilifi, Loitokitok, or Meru campus.
DEPARTMENT OF NUTRITION & DIETETICS
– Diploma in Nutrition & Dietetics (Upgrading)
If you hold a certificate in Community Nutrition, Nutrition & Dietetics, or Food Science & Nutrition, you have the option to enhance your skills and knowledge in the field by pursuing a Diploma in Nutrition & Dietetics.
TVET graduates with a KNEC Certificate in Nutrition & Dietetics are also eligible to apply. The course duration is 2 years.

If you already possess a Certificate in Health Records and Information, you can upgrade your qualifications to a diploma level through this program.

For individuals who hold a Certificate in Community Health from KMTC (Kenya Medical Training College), there is a new opportunity to upgrade their qualifications to a diploma level.
The course duration is 2 years. You can study at the Manza or Rachuonyo campus.
DEPARTMENT OF ORTHOPEDIC & TRAUMA MEDICINE
– Diploma in Orthopaedics and Trauma Medicine (Upgrading)
If you have a Certificate in Orthopaedics Plaster Technology or Certificate in Orthopaedic Trauma Medicine, you can advance your career by upgrading your qualifications to a diploma level.
