High School Teacher Charged For Allegedly Sodomising Car Washer
A high school teacher in Kirinyaga has been charged with sodomy at a Baricho law court. The court ordered the investigating officer to physically present the suspect. The suspect, William Kinyua Mutuanjau, was accused of contempt of court for not showing up to a previous mention of the case due to illness.
The suspect had a representative on Monday who claimed to be his cousin but did not produce any identification documents to support their claim.
Kinyua has been out on a Sh100,000 bond with a surety of a similar amount since pleading not guilty to two counts of sexually assaulting a 23-year-old man.
According to the charge sheet, Kinyua is accused of intentionally and unlawfully causing his penis to penetrate the private part of his victim by use of force on March 28 within Sagana township in Kirinyaga County. On the second count, he is accused of committing an indecent act with an adult.
The suspect allegedly lured the victim with a bottle of beer spiked with a drug. The victim, a car washer in Baricho town, became drowsy after consuming the beer, and the suspect sexually assaulted him before dumping him in the Sagana river, thinking he was dead.
The victim regained consciousness and was found by a group of women who were drawing water from the river while he was naked.
The case was adjourned, and the hearing set for July 24, 2023.
