HELB Loan Applications Now Open
The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has now opened its online application portal to students enrolling in colleges and universities who are seeking government grants, loans, and bursaries.
On Tuesday night, during an interview on Citizen TV’s The Explainer Show, HELB CEO Charles Ringera disclosed that the platform went live on Monday at midnight.
He stated that students seeking government funding have until August 27, 2023 to submit their applications before the application window closes.
“Applications for scholarships, loans, and bursaries opened last night at midnight, and will close on the 27th of this month,” explained Ringera.
Mr. Ringera reminded applicants that the platform will require them to submit important documents, such as their Identity Cards (IDs) and those of their parents/guardians, as well as admission documents from the institutions where they will be enrolled.
Regarding the university transfers, Ringera advised those seeking government funding to contemplate the transfer of institutions, as the two services would operate in unison.
“As the data of KUCCPS changes, it changes immediately on the funding platform; even if they change, it changes immediately on the funding platform, so that by the time the student applies to another institution, we can see the information coming through seamlessly,” he explained.
