Discrepancy in Teachers’ Hardship Allowance Sparks Concerns in Baringo County

Local leaders in Baringo County, Kenya, have raised concerns about the allocation of hardship allowances for civil servants, including teachers, in the region.

The leaders noted that Eldama Ravine constituency is the only area among the six constituencies in the region where civil servants do not receive a hardship allowance.

They questioned this discrepancy, pointing out that neighboring constituencies, such as Kericho, Elgeyo Marakwet, and Nakuru, which share similar climatic conditions, receive hardship allowances.

The leaders insisted that Eldama Ravine deserves the allowance to prevent any disadvantage for local teachers and civil servants.
