All Set for 60th Mashujaa Day Celebrations
On Friday, October 20, Kericho County will celebrate Mashujaa Day for the 60th time. Final preparations are being made.
On Tuesday, the Principal Secretary for Internal Security and National Administration, Dr. Raymond Omollo, confirmed that all preparations for the upcoming event are complete, save for a few minor details.
PS Omollo revealed that the venue is ready for the national event, which President William Ruto will preside over, after inspecting several infrastructure projects, including the Kericho Green Stadium, which will host the event.

PS Omollo, who also chairs the National Steering Committee for National Celebrations, oversaw the rehearsals of the various teams participating in the event, including military drills and performances by entertainment groups, in order to ensure that everything was in order for the event.
The PS expressed satisfaction with all the preparations put in place to ensure the success of the event.
This year’s Mashujaa Day celebration focuses on Universal Health Care, a crucial pillar aligned with the government’s commitment to achieving the vision 2030 goals.
The Internal Security PS emphasized that the country is hosting a week-long event showcasing the initiatives that President Ruto’s administration is implementing in the healthcare sector.
In addition, a number of national heroes will be honored at the event.

He disclosed that the government had chosen approximately 150 heroes to physically attend the event on behalf of all heroes and heroines.
PS. Omollo praised all those directly involved in the preparations, including the Kericho County government, for their commitment and meticulous planning.
He commended all the individuals who had diligently worked to establish the infrastructure that is now in place, acknowledging that they initiated the process approximately two months ago when there was no existing infrastructure.
He urged residents of Kericho and all Kenyans to attend the celebrations in large numbers. The purpose of Mashujaa Day is to honor the heroes and heroines who fought for Kenya’s independence and those who have made significant contributions to the country.
