Eight additional students were transported to the port Florence hospital in the Molem area with minor injuries sustained during the chaos caused by the fire.

The incident, according to school principal John Otuko, destroyed a dormitory for 124 female students and all of their belongings.

The 12 am midnight fire incident, which has left hundreds of students stranded, has prompted police to launch investigations to determine the cause.

The school administration is now pleading with well-wishers to assist the girls who lost their belongings in the incident so that they can continue their education.

The incident raises several concerns about the safety and security of students in schools, especially in dormitories.
