Pupil Impregnated By Headteacher Delivers 5-month lifeless Foetus After Botched Abortion Attempt.
Following a botched abortion attempt over the weekend, a 16-year-old pupil is currently being treated at a Kitui hospital.
After being rushed to Mumoni health centre in Kitui county, the class eight student, who is lucky to be alive, delivered a 5-month lifeless male foetus.
The victim’s mother stated that her daughter had complained of severe abdominal pains, prompting her to rush the minor to the hospital.
After questioning, the girl revealed that her school’s principal, who was responsible for the pregnancy, had taken her to a private clinic in Ishiara on Saturday, February 19, where she was given some tablets to swallow.
Her hospitalization was necessitated by severe abdominal pains.
Detectives have since launched a manhunt for the missing headteacher as well as the owner of the private clinic that performed the botched abortion.
This comes barely weeks after a teacher at Nyarenda Primary School in Bomachoge Chache, Kisii county, has been called to account for the school’s spiralling pregnancies.
At least six students are currently pregnant, with the majority of them KCPE candidates.
The parents told journalists on Sunday that they want the teacher arrested and prosecuted.
They claimed that affected students confided in them, claiming that the teacher had preyed on them during prep hours on weekends.
Gender activists have since weighed in, urging the government to launch a rapid, thorough, and decisive investigation into the incident.

“We are saddened, we had high hopes on the teacher but he has turned out to be a beast. Worse still, the ministry officials who were informed more than one month ago are not helping,” said John Kebaso, one of the parents.
According to the parent, the incidents began as soon as the teacher was assigned to the school.
