Nyambaria High School Principal on the Spot for Refusing to Reverse Money

A high school principal was put in the spot after a man claimed that the principal refused to reverse an erroneous payment made to the school’s account.

George Karani, the accuser, went public with his frustrations on Facebook, alleging that the Principal of Nyambaria High School in Nyamira County was obstructing his efforts to retrieve his Ksh41,000.

According to Karani, he had accidentally sent the money to the wrong pay bill on January 30, but both the mobile money service provider and the bank’s Kisii West branch confirmed that the account belonged to a National School located in Nyamira County.

Despite the confirmation, Karani stated that when he approached the school, the principal instructed the guards to deny him entry.

Frustrated and desperate to recover his money, Karani decided to seek the help of the police. He reported the matter to Magombo police post and the case was referred to the Manga Directorate of Criminal Investigation.

The police got in contact with the principal, who promised to authorize the reversal of the money, but several days later, the principal had yet to initiate the process. This prompted Karani to share his predicament with the public, as he was considering taking legal action.

Many Kenyans expressed their sympathy for Karani and agreed that the principal in question had serious integrity issues. Some even went as far as to argue that the principal did not deserve to hold a public office.

The case has generated widespread public discussion, with many people questioning the ethics and morality of those in positions of power and responsibility.

In conclusion, the situation highlights the importance of transparency and accountability in the public sector. The public has a right to expect those in positions of power to act with integrity and to uphold the principles of justice and fairness.

The failure to do so undermines the trust that people have in the government and the institutions that are meant to serve them. It is imperative that this issue is dealt with promptly and appropriately, and that the victim is granted the justice he deserves.
