KICD Delivers Grade 7 Textbooks To Schools

Despite some pending issues such as the distribution of textbooks, the Junior Secondary School has begun.

The Kenyan government has taken decisive measures to guarantee that all grade seven students receive their learning materials by the end of the week.

Prof. Charles Ong’ondo, CEO of the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD), has confirmed that three sets of the books, covering topics such as health education, agriculture, and physical education, have already been delivered to schools across the country.

Each student is supposed to receive a textbook for each of the core learning areas at junior secondary school as well as for the optional subjects they choose.

KICD and the Ministry of Education are working together to track the remaining books and ensure their timely delivery.

The rollout of the Junior Secondary School program has gone smoothly thus far, with all the involved agencies addressing any challenges that arise.

KICD will conduct a review in February to assess if additional materials are needed.

Prof. Ong’ondo has called on parents who have moved their children to different schools to inform the education offices of these changes, so every school receives enough books.
