KISII UNIVERSITY VACANCIES ANNOUNCEMENT

Kisii University wishes to declare vacancies in the School of Health Sciences for the following Adjunct faculty positions:

ADJUNCT LECTURERS:

• Lecturer Mental Health (1 position)
• Lecturer ENT Surgery (1 position)
• Lecturer Internal Medicine (1 position)
• Lecturer General Surgery (1 position)
• Lecturer Radiology (1 position)
• Lecturer Anesthesiology (1 position)
• Lecturer Pharmaceutical Chemistry (1 position)
• Lecturer Ophthalmology (1 position)
• Lecturer Dermatology (1 position)

Remuneration will be monthly but on a contract basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach and examine students in their area of specialization both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Introduce and evaluate practical reports for courses with a practical component.
• Participate in Clinical duties at KTRH (University teaching hospital).
• Engage in Research activities and community outreach.
• Participate in curriculum development.
• Engage in academic program assessment and reviews.
• Fulfill any other duties as assigned from time to time by the respective Chair of the department in the School of Health Sciences.

Minimum Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience:

• MBChB or its equivalent from a recognized University.
• Master’s degree or its equivalent in the relevant field from a recognized University/College.
• A PhD in a relevant discipline will be an added advantage.
• Previous teaching experience is preferred.
• Must be registered by the relevant professional body.

Personal Attributes & Competencies:

• Proficient in computer skills.
• Self-motivated and highly disciplined.
• Possess excellent command of the subject area, including adept lesson planning.
• Capable of managing ambiguity and emotions.
• Adaptability to technological changes.
• Excellent communication, listening, and mediation skills.
• Strong in fundraising and grants writing abilities.
• Demonstrates outstanding presentation and research writing skills.
