University Graduates Advised to Seek International Opportunities.
University graduates have been urged to obtain travel passports to explore employment opportunities abroad due to the limited job market in Kenya.
This advice was delivered by Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Julius Ogamba during Kisii University’s 13th graduation ceremony.
He emphasized that the degrees, diplomas, and certificates earned by graduates qualify them to work globally and encouraged them to widen their job search beyond the country’s borders.
He noted that the graduates’ skills and knowledge are sufficient to thrive in international markets and advised them to build strong relationships for their survival in the competitive job market.
The CS highlighted the government’s investment of Sh. 41 billion since 2023 to sponsor qualified students through scholarships across various universities.
While acknowledging the financial challenges faced by universities—amounting to Sh. 70 billion in debt—he reassured the public of the government’s commitment to resolving these debts gradually.
