Following the signing of four bilateral agreements between Kenya and Hungary, 200 Kenyans are set to receive scholarships.
This comes after President Uhuru Kenyatta signed an agreement with his Hungarian counterpart, János der, on Monday, January 17, under which the two countries will collaborate in the education sector.
According to the agreement, the number of students receiving government scholarships from the Hungarian government will more than double the initial 100.
“I am glad that your administration has offered to double Hungarian Government Scholarships given to Kenyan Students annually from the current 100 to 200 opportunities,“ the Head of State announced.
Uhuru and Ader led their respective delegations in signing bilateral agreements for cooperation in health, water, education, and diplomacy at the State House in Nairobi.
Hungary will invest Ksh5.67 billion (USD50 million) in each of the four sectors.
The President also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on diplomatic training and information exchange, under which the two countries will collaborate on diplomat training.
