Dr. Jamleck Muturi, Chairperson of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), has advised teachers with psychosocial challenges to use the wellness centres established to improve their welfare, promising that the commission will always provide a human face when dealing with disciplinary cases.
TSC emphasized the importance of interdependence among all education stakeholders in order to improve the country’s educational quality.
Muturi stated that education is a lifetime resource that every society in the world must harness for prosperity, emphasizing the importance of collaboration from all partners to ensure its long-term viability.
He urged teachers, parents, political leaders, and school sponsors to participate in ensuring effective and efficient service delivery in educational institutions during a stakeholders’ engagement forum on Wednesday at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenya (ELCK) Kapenguria Bible College Hall.
He stated that TSC, for its part, was eager to embrace the digitization of some of its services in order to reduce time wasted while seeking services that interfere with teachers’ class time.

“We have decentralized some services so as to save our teachers from the burden of travelling to Nairobi which has been making many teachers lose a lot of time meant for them to be in class. We ask our teachers to be accountable to their learners, the community they serve and the government,” reiterated the TSC chair.
Muturi challenged teachers to maximize each learner’s potential for a better society, praising West Pokot County’s political leadership for prioritizing education in their development efforts.
